Prostaxil: Ingredients, Prices, Safety and Where to Buy
Fully declared prostate formula with beta-sitosterol, nettle root and pumpkin seed
Prostaxil publishes its complete formula — thirteen components including beta-sitosterol, nettle root, pumpkin seed and lycopene. That level of disclosure is rare in this category and lets you check each ingredient against the published research yourself.
Product overview
Prostaxil is a 30-capsule men’s prostate supplement sold in Ghana, ordered through this page with payment on delivery.
Its ingredient sheet is the most complete of any prostate product in this catalogue. Beta-sitosterol in particular has its own small trial literature in lower urinary tract symptoms, distinct from saw palmetto, and nettle root and pumpkin seed are the other conventional components of this category.
The step that comes before any of this: a man over forty-five with urinary symptoms needs a medical assessment, because benign enlargement, prostatitis, infection and prostate cancer look identical from the outside.

Composition
What the supplier ingredient sheet names, and what each component is in plain terms.
Beta-sitosterol
A plant sterol with its own small trial base in lower urinary tract symptoms, separate from saw palmetto. Usually the component with the clearest rationale in a prostate formula.
Nettle root extract
Urtica dioica root, a conventional European prostate botanical, often combined with saw palmetto in trials.
Pumpkin seed extract
Studied in small trials for urinary comfort; also a source of zinc and magnesium.
Zinc gluconate
Zinc is concentrated in prostate tissue. Evidence that supplementing improves symptoms is weak, and long-term high doses cause copper deficiency.
Selenium glycinate
A large prevention trial found no benefit from selenium for prostate cancer prevention. Selenium also has a relatively narrow safe range.
Lycopene
Tomato carotenoid concentrated in prostate tissue. Observational associations exist; intervention evidence is limited.
Maca root extract
Andean root food studied in small trials for sexual desire, with limited evidence and no demonstrated effect on testosterone.
Curcumin (95 %)
Standardised turmeric extract included for its anti-inflammatory positioning. Absorption is its known limitation.
Black pepper extract (98 % piperine)
Added to raise curcumin absorption. It also raises absorption of several prescription medicines — the main reason to mention it to a pharmacist.
Goji berry extract
Lycium barbarum fruit, included as a general antioxidant component with limited targeted evidence.
Maltodextrin, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate
Excipients: bulking agent, anti-caking agent and flow agent. They are not active ingredients.
On the amounts. The components above come from the supplier ingredient sheet, which lists them in descending order but without quantities. The piperine content is the one worth asking about, since it changes how other medicines are absorbed.
Suggested use
The supplier sheet states one capsule twice daily before meals. Follow the directions on the pack you receive.
Who it is for
- Men over 45 in Ghana with mild urinary symptoms who have already been assessed medically
- Men who want a prostate formula that discloses what is in it
What consumers should know
- Prostate supplements can affect how PSA results are interpreted. Tell your doctor you take one.
- Piperine changes the absorption of several prescription medicines.
- Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority registers food supplements — look for a registration number on the pack.
Safety information
- Blood in urine, inability to pass urine, or fever with urinary symptoms need urgent medical care.
- High-dose zinc taken long term causes copper deficiency; selenium has a narrow safe range.
- Do not use a supplement to postpone assessment of new urinary symptoms.

Frequently asked questions
Is beta-sitosterol the same as saw palmetto?
No. They are different plant compounds with separate trial literatures. Beta-sitosterol has its own small evidence base in urinary symptom scores.
Should I still have a PSA discussion?
Yes. A supplement does not replace assessment, and some prostate ingredients affect how results are read.
