About

About BioMedic Africa

Health Information · Supplement Research · Brands · Where to Buy

BioMedic Africa is an independent health and supplements platform for African readers. We are not a pharmacy, not a clinic, not a manufacturer and not a single-brand shop. Our job is to help someone move from a health question to an informed decision, and to say plainly when the information needed for that decision does not exist.

What we do

We publish four kinds of page. Health topics explain a concern in plain language and set out what lifestyle change achieves before discussing supplements at all. Ingredient pages summarise what the research actually shows, separating scientific evidence about an ingredient from manufacturer claims about a product. Product and brand pages document what is sold in African markets, at what advertised price, with what disclosed. Buying guides cover where products can realistically be found and how to verify a seller.

Today that comes to 36 ingredient pages, 25 documented products, 24 practical guides, and full market coverage for Kenya with overviews for Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.

What we will not do

How we make money

Some order forms and links on this site lead to partner order lines. If you place an order through them, BioMedic Africa may receive a commission. That never changes the price you pay, and it does not influence which ingredients we describe, what we say about the evidence, or whether we point out that a supplier has published nothing about a product’s composition. Our affiliate disclosure sets this out in full.

Who writes this

BioMedic Africa Editorial Desk

Research and fact-checking

Our editorial desk compiles supplement and nutrition information from public regulatory registers, peer-reviewed literature indexed on PubMed, and manufacturer labelling. Every claim on the site is traced back to a source before publication.

BioMedic Africa Market Research

Retail and availability checks

Availability, retailer and marketplace information is checked against public store listings and company websites, and each page records the date the check was made.

We do not attribute articles to named clinicians we have not engaged. If and when a qualified reviewer joins the desk, their name, qualification and registration will be published on the medical review policy page and on every page they review — not before.
