How the Ugandan supplement market works
Kampala carries the widest assortment; outside the capital, drug shops and small pharmacies dominate and the range narrows to core vitamins and minerals.
Social-media selling is common. Because there is no listing review on those channels, verifying the seller matters more than the price on offer.
Regulation in Uganda
The National Drug Authority licenses pharmacies and drug shops in Uganda and maintains public registers of licensed premises and registered products. The Uganda National Bureau of Standards sets labelling and quality standards for food-type products.

Price ranges in UGX
Documented direct-order products in Uganda advertise between 17,500 and 192,000 UGX per pack. These are promotional figures rather than retail prices, and they change. Pharmacy prices for labelled equivalents span a wider range in both directions.
Buying safety checklist
- Confirm the outlet appears on the National Drug Authority list of licensed premises before paying in advance.
- Check that the pack is sealed and carries a readable expiry date and batch number when the courier arrives.
Ordering and delivery notes
Ordering is simple: an adviser confirms by phone that the courier delivers to your area, and you pay in cash on delivery, with the pack already in your hands. Courier networks reach Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale, Masaka, Lira and other centres.
