Uganda’s supplement market runs mainly through licensed pharmacies and drug shops in Kampala and regional towns, supermarket health aisles, and online sellers reaching buyers through classifieds and social channels.
Uganda is regulated by National Drug Authority (NDA). Kampala carries the widest assortment; outside the capital, drug shops and small pharmacies dominate and the range narrows to core vitamins and minerals.

Regulation in Uganda
The National Drug Authority licenses pharmacies and drug shops in Uganda and maintains public registers of licensed premises and registered products. The Uganda National Bureau of Standards sets labelling and quality standards for food-type products.

We have no verified UGX pricing for direct-order products in Uganda. Pharmacy pricing varies by brand, dose and channel; compare cost per day at a comparable dose rather than the price on the shelf.
Buying safety checklist
- Confirm the outlet appears on the National Drug Authority list of licensed premises before paying in advance.
- Insist on original sealed packaging with a readable expiry date and batch number.
Ordering and delivery notes
Cash on delivery is the norm across the region and is a genuine consumer protection: open the parcel in front of the courier, check the product name, pack size, batch number, expiry date and seal, and decline it if anything does not match. Courier networks reach Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale, Masaka, Lira and other centres.
