What to Check Before Ordering a Supplement: A Five-Minute Checklist

The product

Confirm exactly what you are ordering: the full product name, the pack size, the number of servings and the daily dose.

Most of this is on the product page and on the pack; anything else, the adviser answers on the confirmation call.

• Expiry date on the stock that will be sent

The ordering route

Ordering through the seller’s order page is the most direct route: an adviser calls to confirm the order, you agree the total, and you pay on delivery. For a pharmacy, you have a physical address and a pharmacist; for a marketplace, a seller rating and recent reviews.

Keep the order line’s number from the confirmation call — it is the quickest way to ask a question later.

The total price

Confirm the final amount including delivery. Ask whether the price shown is for one pack or for a course of several packs, and choose the option that covers the period you plan to take it.

Get the total in your own currency and write it down before the parcel arrives, so the amount at the door matches what you agreed.

The delivery terms

Find out who delivers, how long it takes and what happens if you are not available.

Payment on delivery is standard in most of the region and makes ordering easy: you see the pack before you pay.

Questions for the confirmation call

Many direct-order products are confirmed by telephone. The call is your chance to get everything clear, and a few prepared questions make it quick.

• Can you read me the ingredient list and the amounts?
• What is the pack size, and how many days does one pack last?
• When should I take it, and with food or without?
• What is the total price including delivery?
• When will the parcel arrive?
• What is the expiry date on the stock you will send?

On delivery

Open the outer packaging in front of the courier. Check the product name, pack size, batch number and expiry against what you were told, and look for an intact seal.

If anything differs from what was agreed, raise it before paying — that is the easiest moment to sort it out.

Ask the adviser to explain the total — for example whether it covers one pack or a course, and what delivery adds. Agree the final amount before the order is sent.

Can I change my order after the confirmation call?

Call the order line back as soon as possible. Since payment happens on delivery, nothing is paid until the parcel arrives.
